I do think that this milestone is a good point to stop and reflect on 5 years of MINI ownership. I would say that overall it's been pretty fantastic. The car has been fun, I'm not tired of it and its still running great. Let's take a walk down memory lane though...
*wavey line transition*
I bought the car in Sept. of 2002 and promptly installed white rally stripes on the hood.
Followed by:
- Then I put in the Moss Cold Air Intake...
- Then the S gas cap conversion...
- Garage Door Opener Switch...
- Next came "S" dead pedal
- Followed by MINI Madness Rear Sway bar...
- H&R Performance Springs...
- Short Shift Kit...
- Chrome Shift Knob...
- Gram Lights Wheels w/ Yokohama skins...
- Installed RCA inputs in the dash to accommodate my iPod...
- Euro Parcel Shelf...
- Boot Stripes...
- and a partridge in a pear tree..
After all that there have been only minimal maintenance issues including:
- Faulty brake lights (fixed under warranty)
- Replaced Aux. Fan (fixed under warranty)
- Replaced Transmission (fixed under warranty + new clutch)
Along the way I did some fun things...
- Best trip taken in the MINI - camping in Angeles national forest '05
- Most Fun had in MINI - BMW CCA AutoCross Irwindale Speedway
- Favorite Mod - Moss Intake (LOUD AND AWESOME)
- Favorite Accessory - Matching 2007 Ducati Monster S2R1000
And that's about it. I will hopefully flesh this post out some more in the near future- but I just had to get my thoughts down.
